Occupational and Environmental Health
Outline
The major area being studied in this department is the field of occupational and environmental health. We mainly put stress on practical studies on primary preventive measures to enhance workers' health and the quality of their working life(QWL) in light of the improvement of working conditions. Our interest also extends to environmental management that has a direct relation to our health through exposure to physical, chemical and biological risk factors.

Forensic Medicine
Outline
Forensic Medicine involves forensic pathology, medicine which investigates death, and clinical forensic medicine, medicine which involves an interaction among the law, the judiciary and the police involving living persons. Our main themes of investigations are toxicological investigation of sarin and amphetamine, as well as methamphetamine, and personal identification using STRs and mitochondria DNA sequence.

Comprehension and acquisition of Medical Informatics will from the foundation in every decision-making which is necessary in daily medicine/healthcare and will lead to efficiency in medical practice through integration of highly specialized medical world. In this course, knowledge, technique, ethics in access, management, usage and provision of the medical information will be learned, as computer science that is important as an essential way of realization of the modern informatics.

The course provides fundamental knowledge and techniques necessary for research and development of evidence-based medical education.
Prospective evaluations of educational outcome and analyses of biological, psychological and sociological factors affecting the educational efficiency are major areas of the studies.
